The Higher Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations is an institute of higher education belonging to the University of Zagazig in the Arab Republic of Egypt. It is located in Zagazig, the capital of Sharkia province, about 70 km north of Cairo in the east of the Nile Delta.

   
The Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations is a unique scientific institution not only in Egypt, but also in the Middle East. It is interested in reading the history of this region, which was the cradle of the divine religions, which witnessed the oldest human civilizations in the history of the ancient world.

  
The Institute includes a museum that is considered one of the best academic museums. It includes more than 2500 monuments, some of which are rare monuments that were extracted through the ambitious project carried out by the University of Zagazig, the archeological excavation project in Tel Basta (Bar-Bastet) 1978, which continued until 1998 in addition to the region of Kfour Najm - Center Ibrahimia in Sharkia since 1984.

In order to enroll the student in the ancient Near East civilizations, he must have a Bachelor's degree in Arts from History, Eastern Languages, Archeology, Egyptian and Greek Antiquities, as well as graduates of the Faculty of Archeology (Egyptian and Islamic Archeology) Subject to the study of some of the articles proposed by the scientific section and approved by the College Council and approved by the University Council that the internal coordination between the applicants and in accordance with the capacity of the colleges.

       
Applications must be submitted in September of each year, and the duration of registration for a master's degree is at least three years from the date of the approval of the Institute Council, including two years for the study and the third to write the research supervised by a faculty member who is entitled to supervise according to the universities law. Masters degree .

     
The Master's Exam is held twice a year during May and September, and if the student fails in one or more subjects, the examination in all subjects takes place in the second round directly.

     
The student is denied entry to the exam if he does not meet the required attendance rate of 70% of the total theoretical and applied lectures, and pass the required examinations with a total total of not less than 70%, with the maximum end of each theoretical or practical course "20" Search successfully.

    
A PhD student must have at least a Master's degree.

      
The student shall undertake an innovative research on a subject approved by the Council of the Institute upon the proposal of the Department Council and the approval of the University for a period of at least two years from the date of approval by the Council of the Institute to register the subject.

      
The student may be granted an exceptional period of not more than two years, based on the supervisor's report and the approval of the relevant department council.
